1. Definitions:
(a) "Walker Trust" means The Walker Traditional Folk Music Trust.
(b) "You" means the person, partnership, company, charity or parents or caregivers that has made
the request to Walker Trust for the grant.
(c) "Trad Music" means the songs, tunes and instrumental accompaniments, written in any era, in
the traditional style music genre having roots in the music of England, Ireland, Scotland,
Wales and New Zealand (refer to Walker Trust website for further information).

2. Business Ethics:
(a) Walker Trust has an uncompromising commitment to ethical behaviour in business, and we
expect the same standard from you.
(b) Walker Trust will never be bound to you in any way, until such time as Walker Trust has
approved and committed in writing to a funding project.
(c) Walker Trust is under no obligation to provide reasons why any funding application has been
declined, and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
(d) The person or organisation that is applying for a Walker Trust grant hereby declares and
warrants that the information provided in this form is true and correct, and that they have
authority to make this application. Further, all grant money received from Walker Trust can
and will only be used for the purpose for which the grant was approved.
(e) Unspent grant money must be returned to Walker Trust on demand. All dealings must be
transparent.
(f) Copies of invoices, receipts, bank statements, airline tickets, any contract signed with
artist(s), (where applicable), will be provided upon request to Walker Trust, and Walker Trust
reserves the right to make further inquiry of you as regards the details of your proposal,
before committing in writing to approving a grant.
(g) All successful applicants must show evidence to Walker Trust that grant funds have been
utilised as indicated in the approved application, for the purpose for which the grant was
approved.
3. Focus:
• Walker Trust is focused on supporting young musicians up to and including the age of 25
years to learn Trad Music.
• Raising the profile of Trad Music in New Zealand.

4. Partnership Funding:
Walker Trust will consider applications on a limited partnership basis. This could involve, for
example, funding part tuition fees, or contributing towards airfares to bring established Trad
Music artists to perform at New Zealand folk festivals.
5. Marketing:
(a) You consent to Walker Trust using your story, music and images on our website free of
charge, but not for monetary profit, to foster interest in Trad Music.
(b) We consent and encourage you to use Walker Trust logos, and to tell our story in your
marketing.
6. Privacy:
(a) Your privacy is respected by Walker Trust. The personal information you supply on this form
will be used to assess eligibility for funding. Submission of this application does not expressly
mean or imply that Walker Trust will make a grant to you, and we are under no obligation, legal
or otherwise, to process your application to a successful conclusion. Each application will be
determined on its merits, and in alignment with Walker Trust purposes, as set out in our
website.
(b) Walker Trust is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever upon your application for funds
being declined.
