Traditional Folk Music was a big hit at the Auckland Folk Festival 2026
Culverake on the Main Stage
Culverake
Seb Stone, Matt Quinn and Lizzy Hardingham, sang us songs we all knew, and songs we hadn’t heard before.
Their exquisite arrangements and gorgeous harmonies allowed us to experience the beauty of their music, while bringing the traditional stories to life.
The stories of lovers parted, of whalers heading home from the arctic, of massacre, protest and of tragedy, of humour and exaggeration, kept the packed audiences at the concerts entranced.

Jennifer Reid was brutally honest, powerful and authentic in her performance of nineteenth century Lancashire dialect and Victorian Broadside Ballads.
With great energy and enthusiasm, Jennifer thoroughly entertained us while at the same time giving us insight into the culture, music and stories of the streets, pubs and alleyways where folk lived.
